[Jacob-list] defects

We observed artesia ani last year in one of our son's 4-H pigs.  The boar our sow was bred to was obviously inbred for desirable show traits such as lean, heavy muscling, length of loin, etc.  Many abnormalities show up in animals that are closely bred - e.g. mother to son, brother to sister.  This is why I tried to encourage the Jacob breeder from Canada to seek outside bloodlines.
