[Jacob-list] Genetics

I have been reading about all of your input
on genetics -- interesting.  I am involved with a
school FFA project and we are conducting some
tracking on genetics starting this spring.

We are starting a Jacob herd so have the
registered Jacobs and also we had some
crossbred ewes.  We have crossed all the
ewes with  a Jacob ram -- the suffolks, which
I knew carried black genetics have all had
black lambs with most having a spot of white
on there heads -- varies in how much.  The
Dorset ewes have all had spotted lambs.
We have some other mixed breed ewes also
giving us a painting effect on the lambs.  We
are also going to see which ones show signs
of horns -- Has anyone else tracked such genetics ?

I thought the students may enjoy this collection
of information when we build more history --

I also find it interesting on breeders -- some who
like color in the fleeces and some who like
horns -- I have learned alot by all your input !
