You might also consider a long handled large fish net for catching small lambs. They don't fit into the usual crook.

Subject: [Jacob-list] Christmas Gifts
We are new shepherds, and enjoying every minute of it.
For Christmas I am considering giving my husband a shepherd's crook. I can't find one locally, but have seen a few on the Internet.
I would be very interested in hearing from the list as to what type is best (metal, wood, fiberglass?) and any feature you think might be important (length, type of hook, etc.) I want something that will actually be used, but be nice as well. It's so nice to have people to ask! Thanks!
