Hi All,
We castrate any that need to be done between 1 month & 2 depending on
when the testicles drop.  We also band them it is much less stressful
.   People who want bottle babies as pets from us are very discouraged.
We seldom have a Jacob bottle baby.
I would never pull a lamb off of its mother at an early age.  We do
creep feed them and if by 2 months the wethers are eating well we will
sell them then.  Otherwise, if they are being sold for breeding stock
they stay until June and then we wean them..  We like to give the
mothers at least 6 weeks of peace to build up for the next breeding
season. The rams go  in the middle of August.
