[Jacob-list] Oh how I love Noah

Hi all,

Just thought I would pass on one of the better moments that rams can
provide.  

I brought home a 5 year old ram this summer (Sweetgrass Noah)---came
through on AGM day for those of you that were there----and he is now
settled in nicely with all the other ram lambs either waiting to grow up
or to go west.  I fed the critters this morning before work just because
it is already oppressive out there---and this is at 6 am.    Figured
they would rather eat now than when it is still over 90 this evening.  

Noah came trotting up per usual order.  This time, he had decorated
himself very carefully with baler twine.  He had woven it around his 4
horns with great decorative thought.  Being a new ram to me, I haven't
messed with him at all, but thought I would see if he would want his
chin scratched so I could investigate my dilemma.  He is a bit large to
wrestle down without confining quarters and in my "business dress"
get-up.  Chin scratch worked very well and I concluded the "handy-dandy
pocket knife" that I keep on my key ring would work just fine provided
he would stand still after I finished scratching the chin and started
messing with the horns.  I know---this IS a stretch!  Well...it worked.
One carefully planned set of snipping, and the main part of the twine
came free.  I unwrapped it around the other horns, and he was
free---still standing there like a very cool gentleman.  Nice rams are
few and far between.
