[Jacob-list] GPs and such.....

Hi,
There continue to be more GPs coming into rescue than we can even handle through the NC/SC area. It is amazing to me how many idiots think they are qualified to be good breeders and put out these dogs. Most of the time, it is the 6 to 15 month old dogs that we get into rescue. Since I have been working with the program in this area, we have placed a number of working dogs. I have sent back a couple to be placed in pet homes---and there are lots of those needed.
The rescue program got in an 8 year old dog that has been in a private home since his first rescue at 10 months or so of age. A family member became allergic to the dog hair and the family has been unable to keep him. I have had him a couple days now and am watching how he handles himself. So far, he looks to be a very good boy. If it would ever stop raining, I will put him in another area where he doesn't have another friend to see if he spends more time with the sheep (he had never seen a sheep before coming here). If you want more information on this dog, I will be happy to put you in touch with Martha Rehmeyer who handles the program.
Best run. Hope all those Jacob lovers further east survived Charley without mishap. We didn't even see higher winds here yesterday---just rain and more rain.
