Hi Linda
There seems to be a problem with supply and demand of horns of all breeds here in the UK, which is probably why your contact was looking to the States.  Not many rams with large horns go for slaughter - if they are needed for crookmaking then only those from mature males are suitable.
The European Union rules concerning getting horns back from the abattoir are complicated, so most people don't get them back.  We could have sold large numbers every year if we had them !
