Well, I tried it and it worked!!!! Now I just fill up a cooler with warm
water, bring it out to the corral by sled, close it at night, and add two
buckets of hot water every morning.  No more hard, frozen water.  It works
well to about 20 F at night.  Any lower, and you have to break up the
morning ice with neoprene gloves.
