[Jacob-list] Trading off rams

After my post last week, I had a few inquiries about folks trading  rams.
 
Is this something commonly done among breeders? 
 
I do have a ram that has been excellent in the breeding shed.. outproduced  
himself... But I have daughters, grandaughters and sons.... That if I could 
find  a fresh, preferably show quality producing ram to trade with, I would 
consider  it.... 
 
Is this common practice?
