[Jacob-list] ewes vs. wethers

So far this year we've had three people contact us who want to buy our  
Jacobs for their wool, and also to make them semi-pets.  
 
I always steer them clear of the ram lambs, but then talk about wethers and  
ewes.  I tell them the advantages of wethering early, and also when the ram  
lambs are about 6 months old. They invariably ask which would be better as  a 
"pet" for a small farm - a wether or a ewe?  
 
So now I'll ask you - If breeding is not in the equation, which would you  
rather have - a wether or a ewe?
