[Jacob-list] question about lamb wool

I have a lamb this year that is about 6 weeks old. This week I noticed that
his black wool is longer than his white wool- not noticeable until this
week.  In the breed description this is referred to as quilted (undesirable)
buts says after first shearing. So my question is--as lambs wool is this
also undesirable or a wait and see after first shearing?????
