As far as I know, fuel accumulator would only cause hard starting on a warm 
engine. It's job is to maintain a certain fuel pressure for upto 2hrs after 
engine is switched off.

I don't think it plays a part on cold starting.

The other thing and first thing to chck is your mixture - is it absolutely 
spot-on ? If not, then you will get delayed starting in some cases.
