Incorrect - Parts for BBS RS wheels are READILY available from BBS AG 
Germany direct.

Indeed, about 3 months ago, I obtained the original BBS RS centre caps and 
one outer rim - cheaper than any aftermarket supplier and delivered within 5 
working days.

So no problem sourcing parts on twenty year old wheels - it's the same as 
gettting parts for a 20yr old SEC !

As for cracking and bending, the problem is no more inherent than on a one 
piece alloy. No evidence to date for split rims being more prone to cracking 
or bending.
