Dick and Mike,

thank you for fast and comprehensive answers. My lifting facilities are limited to floor
jack and jack-stands, so guess I have to outsource the job. In case you are located
close, it would be great to have either of you as a "contractor". I understand that the
dealer must have margins for other required small parts, but as Dick says, their
estimates may be for isolated jobs, and might be (much?) less if they were doing  the
items at the same time. 
Thanx again for your advices, I will keep you posted how the independent shop looks at
it,
