Hello to the group - longtime lurker, first time poster -=20
Horror of horrors, I discovered a pinhole of rust erupting from under
the rear bumper trim on my '91 (The flat horizontal chrome piece with
two clips on either end, that butts up against the license plate panel
under the trunk lid). I already bought the replacement and new clips
from Rusty, but it looks like there are a LOT of mounting points along
the edge. =20
Any tips on replacing this part? Do you need to pull the whole bumper
down?
Many thanks -=20

I have been seeing similer results but also on hard
acceleration until one raining day when the motor
burned out. Been snowing so much that I have not had
time to look into it.

No, the road runner has a 340 with a 4 barrel, three
speed auto. I think the Coyote package was for the
Plymoths. Black with white inlay on the paint. Looks
slick. He bought it out of a place in texas called
the texas toy box. Found a good price too.

Cool, Thanks for the info. I have an 84 euro SEC that I am the second
owner on. I have had the car about 10 years now. It is a very stock
car, an Air Force Officer bought it new in Germany where it lived for 3
years and then was brought to the US. Thanks again for the help!

Hi Mike:
First, replace the fuse you know is looking okay and apparently working
the
headrest ANYWAY with a new one. Sometimes the fuse looks good and
even
carries a small amount of juice across it but, if you never replaced
it...now is the time!
If that does not work, you either have a bad door mounted seat
controller
switch or the harness may be unplugged partially under the seat.
Question, do you hear any motor noise when you attempt to move the
seat? If
yes, but no movement, check the hard cables that drive the gears to see
if
they are loose or kinked under the seat. If no, pull the seat button
off
the door switch and try working the plastic stubs by hand to see if
they
make the motor/seat work.
If none of this works then it's time to remove the seat. Ideally, you
would
remove the two bolts under the plastic trim to either side of the front
of
the seat at the floor and then remove the two in the rear followed by
the
transmission hump bolt for the seat belt rail that holds the seat belt
clip.
Then lift the seat out of the car, place on a bench and test the
workings
using a 12volt DC power source. If everything checks out with a 12VDC
check
then you need to remove the door switch and replace. For instructions
on
the door switch removal, I'd need the year of your SEC. Depending on
the
year of your SEC you may need a harness kit in addition to the switch
should
they require replacement.
Good luck.

84. Mike, you probably have the soldered harness vs the newer plug type
seat switch. That is a perfect candidate for dipping in a container of=20
contact cleaner and leaving it attached to the door. Remove power fuse=20
first. A quick test before dis-assembly of door trim is to pull the
seat=20
elevation (horizontal) plastic and work the posts to either side of the=20
center pin to se if you can get them to respond. Do the same for front
to=20
back travel by working the center pin by hand. I found you can get a
little=20
more travel on the pins this way. Work close to the trim bezel to avoid
damaging a pin (post) on the switch.
Good luck

I thought the Road Runner was a Plymouth, and the other one that was
basically the same was a Dodge (forget the name of the Dodge though).
IIRC the Doge variant had it's own version of the Coyote Duster, called
something else. I very well could be wrong since I'm going from memory
based on a show from the era that I saw on SPEEDvision.

You are right, I was thinking about that on my way to
another customer. For some reason I was thinking
Dodge charger or challanger. I forget which. The
Duster was a seperate car though. I think that one
came with a 318ci engine in it.

I had my plane at Camarillo airport when Lance was developing the
Lanceair. He did things right! Wow what a plane. I received the
privilege of flying a few along the way and could I afford one right
now, I would be very interested. However, I am starting up yet another
company so funds are scarce.
My condolences on the loss of your friend.

I had a '71 charger in college. It had a 318 ci 2 bbl in it. Good ski
car though, it always started no matter how cold. Though sometimes I
had to drop a pocket knife into the carb to hold it open 'till it warmed
up. :)

You are right, I was thinking about that on my way to
another customer. For some reason I was thinking
Dodge charger or challanger. I forget which. The
Duster was a seperate car though. I think that one
came with a 318ci engine in it.

Bill, I almost forgot. Walk a bit further up the road=3D0D
from the tiny church. There should be a wooden=3D0D
ladder straddling a fence next to the road. There=3D0D
is a cow pasture on the other side. Climb over the =3D0D
fence and just follow the foot-path through the field =3D0D
(watch the bulls). You will first go through a tropical =3D0D
forest, then a bamboo forest you won't believe (it's=3D0D
so dark you will think the sun isn't shining). You will=3D0D

Greetings, all-----
I hate it when those treacherous eBay merchants do this: Look under
Item No.=20
7947169477, an auction for one Euro headlight, and the car looks=20
veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery familiar. The merchant's eBay ID is mcbenz60. I
wonder if he=20
shamelessly rips off others' pictures for his other auctions?

Hey Jim,=20
Here's a copy of a question I sent to the seller of the Euro lamp.
Just curious... Where did you get the picture of the W126 coupe? Do you
have=20
permission to use this image? Because this car is owned by a friend of
mine.
I know Jack's SEC is probably one of the most beautiful around, but
coming=20
from a newspaper and advertising background, I have a real problem with=20
unauthorized use of images. I think we all should bombard him with
questions.
