Re-he-eally...hmm, sounds like time for me to forget about buying
another lens and getting a V1 instead. My question now is, and write ups
on a non-cigarette source to power it from? I know there's a spare 12v
connector in BMW's where the built-in garage door opener would go if you
didn't get the option...anything similar in these cars?

Cops can't detect the 8500 or V1....
I asked a trooper one day, who was babbling on about how his cruiser
does 175 plus and how he has confiscated every detector in existence,
how many Valentine have you confiscated? He never heard of a
Valentine;-)
