[W126 Coupe] RADAR DETECTORS

Two points -
Dan's - while driving in VA and DC, don't have a power cord dangling down to
the cigarette lighter plug. It's a dead giveaway and not necessary. I added
a plug to the overhead light by running wiring behind the windshield post
trim and to the fuse panel. The radar detector is on the windshield with
suction cups just above the mirror. It's pretty much invisible thanks to the
window tinting. While the battery powered models are getting better, nothing
beats a Valentine.

Jonathan's - go down to your local pawn shop and buy a junk detector to toss
into the door panel. That way if you get pulled over, drop the Valentine out
of sight but you have the junk detector to give the cop, should he ask. I've
heard of cops that won't give you a ticket if you'll put your detector in
front of a tire and run over it as you pull out. :-)

I hang mine from the right-side sun visor and power it from a short lead
connected inside the
overhead light compartment, the cigar lighter does not get involved.
