Now Bill, you say stay in the fast lane...isn't that the lane that the
has a closer eye kept on it? I use the left as it should be used: a
passing lane. If I'm doing 1million mph I'll still go back to the right
if it's empty since the left should be there in case someone is doing 2
million.
Richard

Lets start with the LIDAR (laser) unit. It works on line of sight and
is target specific. There is a red dot in the sight and you have to aim
it at the target vehicle so the answer to the distance question is "How
steady can you hold it on your target and how far away can you see your
target to estimate its speed". My LIDAR unit can get targets out to a
mile plus but to place that little red dot on a vehicle doing 60 mph
that far away is pretty difficult. Now if you have a Radar/Laser
detector and use it properly it could save your ass if you listen to the
beeps and watch the arrows. I think the jamming systems are a waist of
money. I have seen a few of these and they don't work. I wouldn't of
seen them if they worked!
The RADAR unit is an instant on system. So unless you see it first or
listen to those beeps again your pretty much toast. The RADAR is NOT
TARGET SPECIFIC! The operator has to be able to see the speeding
vehicle and then estimate his speed and verify it with the unit.
So speed safely! And stay in the fast lane!
Bill P.
P.S. If you want to see how they work let me know!
And I will be inside tonight working a detail watching some bad Karaoke!

Hi Bill:
I know we been round and round on this but, in your humble opinion is
there any detector on the market that would prevent a police officer
from catching a speeder say doing 85-90 in a 65 just by way of
example???
If there is a detector solution what are the components and what is the
distance before you are zapped??
Thanks and stay warm where I know you are in the coldest part of MA
tonight near the ocean, wind and 2 degree forecast.
Dick
