Thanks to those members who responded to my A/C problem,my previous post
regarding the above vacuum leaks,I removed the block holding the cold start
injector and noticed the casting ridges similar to the idle valve but on one
side there was a definate flat about 1/8" wide(3mm) this was a worry and I
would have expected better from MB.

Chet was spot on when he said disturbing the hoses causes leaks as the
old hoses have grooves where the casting ridges(now polished smooth)
were,as the new hoses will takes some time to arrive I contacted Loctite
technical advice for a sealant they recommended No 3 Aviation flexible
gasket cement .
I will test to see if this cures the high idle.

Now for the "OFF TOPIC" My wife and I were sitting in the family room
when we heard a LOUD BANG!as we live close to a light aircraft airport it
sounded like another plane had gone down.
Rushed outside to see my next-door neighbour("the lights are on but no
one's home") in a FORD LASER(MAZDA 323) stuffed into my garage up to her
windscreen, engine screaming full revs!.She was frozen in shock but otherwise
unhurt more by luck as she was not wearing her seat belt(law over here)
She had confused the brake for the accelerator(automatic),Luckily she
had chosen the left side missed a Benz and hit my 1968 420 JAGUAR pushing it
to the rear of the garage ,crunching some camping equipment and smashing all
the steel sheeting off.
My poor Jag,stuffed rear end( the one piece bumper is now split in two)
front end, and as it was being stored it was not insured, luckily her
insurance covers it(I hope fingers crossed)
Sorry if I seem a little unkind but space does not permit me to
catalogue her many disasters both on and off the road.

                                                            Kind Regards
