[W126 Coupe] Wheel tragedy

Have just discovered that one of my AMG front wheels has cracked from bolt 
hole to bolt hole through the hub, end to end. I would like to buy a new 
centrepiece, but new wheels or parts are unavailable here.  Can it be 
repaired.? Local gurus say no. I have an idea to fit a stainless steel ring 
pressed over the outside circumference of the hub bolt hole lobes on the 
inside of the wheel (after machining the circumference). Have in mind 1/4 
in. thick max. X the length of the hub on the inside of the wheel. It could 
be shrunk on if I can find someone with that skill. Has anyone had this 
experience or have any knowledge of the availability of a wheel or a 
centrepiece, please.
