Hi Eric,
Gary Dempsey removed the chrome and the star itself! Turned out a real nice 
job, but I recall Gary saying it took some time.
Maybe if Gary sees this he will post a photo or two. It looks so "upscale 
special tuner look".
By the way what year is your coupe? You say sort of Teal, do you have a 
photo? Mine is a 91 Teal amd palomino and I think it is one of the better 
colors.

Has anyone stripped the SEC grille of its chrome and painted it semi-gloss
black? The chrome trim in the center of my 89 SEC grille has started to peel
off. I have located new grilles, but they are all $500+. My grille is in 
good
shape otherwise.

I have seen it on some of the "tuner" SECs, like AMG and the like, but those 
are
usually body color. My SEC is a sort of teal color and I don't think the 
grille
would look right body color, so I was thinking semi-gloss black.

What do you guys think?
