Dear retro-friends,
I mostly agree to Ryan's way of thinking. Why not adding the words
"extended castling" or "no extended castling" in a cylinder problem (when,
of course, the validity of the solution is concerned) ?
It would not be revolutionary ! Everybody knows here the terms "consequent"
or "a-posteriori". They are used to indicate precisely to the solver in
which field he evoluates.
Thus, in my opinion, everything must be done for giving the complete
exposition (modern status) of a problem.
Nicolas Dupont.
