[Retros] Christmas Contest 2003 of Stuttgarter Zeitung

Could someone please explain the stipulations of the first two problems?

A. Does this mean that white takes back his last move, and instead checkmates 
*on the move*? Or does he take back his move, makes a move, then black is on 
move, and white mates next?

B. Can a pawn be added to this one so that it makes black to move,  then 
white mates next?

I would appreciate any help as I am new to retros and it is hard to find 
people to teach you in the problem community, especially in rarer types such as 
retros.
