[Retros] Checkmate?

This "checkmate" idea sounds like an interesting challenge for composers!
The case where White's right to capture en passant stands in question
is old. But the more interesting case is where Black can only avoid to be
checkmate in the diagramme position by capturing en passant. Perhaps the
defending side should be given the benefit of the doubt then? A white
claim of checkmate should be successful against any conceivable black
defense!
