My policy is to allow whatever leads to an interesting puzzle.  (While
I am most impressed by a "pure" retro,
I've seen retros with conditions like "White can castle; where were
the black rooks captured?", so an animal
chess problem with information beyond the straight movelist is
partially acceptable.)
