Equal last move?
13525 - Andreas Witt
Construct, using wK, wQ, wP, bK, a position in which white had as many
last moves as possible.
13526 - Frank Fiedler
How many proofgames exist in which the white king, on h2, is mated by a
black queen in the fastest possible way?
13527 - Werner Keym
The centers of the squares on which the two kings and two other white
pieces are standing form (1) a rectangle (2) a square of (a) minimal (b)
maximal area. In each of these four positions, a #1 is possible. Which
(most economical) pieces are needed in each case?
Fairy conditions (hopefully I didn't make any errors in the definitions,
please let me know if one is wrong):
Magic square: A piece whose move ends on this square changes colour. (In
the retro play this means that white can retract moves with a black
piece on a magic square, and vice versa)
Anticirce: The capturing piece is reborn on its rebirth square. If the
rebirth is impossible, the capture is illegal. The captured piece is
removed. In the standard (Calvet) form, a piece can capture on its
rebirth square, in the Cheylan form, a piece can't capture on its
rebirth square.
CoucouCirce: A piece is reborn on the rebirth square of the capturing
piece. If a pawn is reborn on the promotion rank, it promotes. If the
rebirth square is occupied, the piece is removed.
Andernach: A capturing piece changes colour.
ParrainCirce: After a capture, a piece is reborn on the next move on the
square that has the same displacement vector from the capture square as
the displacement vector of the move that follows it. A pawn reborn on
the promotion rank promotes. The displacement vector of castling is the
added displacement vector of the individual king movement and rook movement.
Relay chess: A move must either be made with the same piece that made
the last move, or with a piece that hasn't moved yet. If there are no
such pieces, or if none of those pieces can make a legal move, any other
piece may be chosen.
Losing chess: Kings are non royal. Captures are obligatory.
Solving hints:
- In 13522a, black is mated, in 113522b, white is mated.
- In 13515 and 13516, a black queen appears on b7.
- The main plan in 13517 is taking back h7xTg8=S and forward h8=R#
