Mate in how many moves?
a) as given
b) without the 20 squares from d1 to h4
c) without the 40 squares from d1 to h8, meaning there is only the a- to c-file.

Solution:

a) 1.a5:b6 e.p.? is not legal – Kb7-a6 and before Pd5:c6#are possible last moves. But 1.Bb6! b4 2.Bd3# mates
b) The mating square d3 is now unavailable, therefore three moves are needed:1.Bb8 b4 2.R:b4 K:a5 3.Ra4#.
c) Now the last move Kb7-a6 is not possible, as before Pd5:c6+ is now alsoimpossible. This leaves only ...b7-b5, and now 1.a:b6 e.p.! Ka5 2.Ra3#.

Add a chessman, then helpmate in 3 moves - White begins and also mates. How many solutions?

Solution:
Apparently,there are three solutions.But in the positions with wQd8? (1.Nf8+ R:f8+ 2.K:f8 Ra8 3.Nc5#) or wRc8? (1.Nf8+R:f8 2.K:f8 Kd7 3.Bf5#) there is an illegal check with bTh8+. Only with wRg8!(1.Nd8+ R:d8+ 2.K:d8 Kf7 3.Bd5#) it works legally.
