Wayne,
I had always thought very poorly of him (think Nixon).
Now he is doing what everyone agrees no other Israeli
politician could do, that is successfully taking on
the settler movement, at least in Gaza.
It should be noted that in addition to the Gaza Strip
settlements only 4 small isolated settlements in the
West Bank are to be removed in this package. As
far as Sharon is concerned, the other settlements
in the West Bank will stay in place and grow in size.
At the moment there are over 200,000 settlers.
Your various possible explanations of the man
(a, b, c, & d) are examples of simplistic thinking
and lack ALL nuance. That touches on my
original point about not demonizing him.
