[Jacob-list] Showing Jacobs in all breed shows

I was really disappointed this year at SAFF to not see any Jacobs. There has usually been at least a couple. We've got some really enthusiastic new breeders in the SE that are interested in showing Jacobs and I hope we'll see Jacobs again at SAFF in 2007. I'm sometimes tempted, but have managed to hold off so far.

I've seen two Jacob classes at MSWF and I understand that the judge gets a breed packet that tells what constitutes a Jacob and the sheep are judged against that standard. (correct me if I am wrong).

What is the judging criteria for an all breed class? It's been years (and years and years) since I was in 4H, but at that time the sheep shown by 4H and FFA members were all meat class and were judged as meat sheep. The county fairs now include a wool class in some areas. Show venues like SAFF focus on fiber animals, but you'll see Shetlands, Jacobs, Borders, Cotswolds, etc, and some mixes. What's the judge looking for if he's got a Jacob and Shetland side by side?
