It keeps getting repeated that 25mm offset is proper.

offset values mean nothing without referencing the rim width=20

Considering that buying wheels and tires w/o being sure you know what =
you are talking about could easily be a $3500 mistake, I insist you guys =
note that ET values, or offset values, mean nothing without referrencing =
the rim width. Say it out loud, offset values mean nothing without =
referencing the rim width

Simply, OFFSET MEANS THE MM BIAS MORE THAN 50/50 that the wheel sticks =
out from the mounting face.

on a 7" rim a 25 ET wheel sticks out 4.48" out from the mounting face
7" divided by 2 =3D 3.5 plus 25mm (.98") total of 4.48" out from the =
mounting face.

on an 8" wheel 25 ET sticks the wheel out 4.98". a full half inch more =
"offset."
8 divided by 2 =3D 4 plus 25mm (.98") =3D 4.98", a full half inch more =
offset.

A full half inch on a lowered car can be a disasterous difference.
