[W126 Coupe] Re:HI IDLE

My idle was at about 1100/1200 until I swapped out the Idle Control
Valve. Some people have success with cleaning it but a lot don't.

When changing the valve out often the rubber mounting post that the
clamp is bolted to will separate. Additionally one of my air hoses was
cracked and the sleeve that sits inside the clamp was missing.

A VDO valve can be bought which is significantly cheaper than the
factory MB part and it is identical.

Matt.

The idle speed is all controlled electronically - the mixture screw will
not
impact the idle speed.

Have you checked the bypass valve on the idle air valve - small plastic
pipe
connecting the two main hoses ?

If that's leaky or come loose, idle will jump.
