[W126 Coupe] don't use high mileage oils

I was thinking of just keeping up with my 3k intervals, at least for the
first few times as the sludge comes out. As far as filters, I've always
bought them from my Benz dealer. Now, what's this coil wire thing? I've
changed my own oil since I was 8 (and "helped" my dad since I can
remember), and I never knew about this coil wire thingy. Always cringed
as I counted to 3 waiting for the pressure to come up.

Hi Richard:
Go straight to Mobil 1 in either 0-40 (if you will be in temps below 5
degree F when cold starting) or 15-50 for any temp greater than 5
degrees F
on a cold start. First run 5k thereafter 7500k. Use only the correct
filter brand as well. I use Mann; not sure what other brands are
acceptable. As you know on the V-8's (your 380) if you change your own
oil,
ground out the coil wire and crank for brief intervals until oil
pressure
returns slightly on the dash gauge.
Regards,
Dick
