Thanks Matt :)
I'd definetly rewire the speakers. The fader dial is giving me some serious issues right now and its driving me nuts. Currently, the stereo is all OEM including the Becker tape deck. It does have a Kenwood CD changer with RF modulator, but I am considering picking up a Kenwood deck with CD control so I can ditch the separate changer controls. I need to see if I can convince my dad to give/sell me the Kenwood deck he has sitting around. Its an older one but it should control that changer just fine. It also has the folding face security feature.
I am also thinking about building a passive crossover network so I can run the dash speakers along with a midbass in the factory door location. I do remember the rears being a component setup with a separate tweeter and mid. Its been so long since I have looked at the speakers that I can't remember for sure. I do remember being very underwhelmed with the dash speakers though, especially for such a high doallar car.
