[W126 Coupe] Transmission Question

Have tried starting the car  The motor starts.  the trans makes no effort to 
move in any gear.

this was whenit first happened. when all was hot.  Tried again when car had 
cooled for 3 hours (waiting for tow truck)   still nothing.

Have not tried this morning since the tow last nite.
