[W126 Coupe] Transmission Question

the car ran for about 15 mins on the thursday i drove out of my garage.
Parked during the Atlanta ice on the weekend and drove sunday from about
5:45 pm Sunday to the gas station, filled with gas and drove about 15 miles
before slowing and stopping. Just at dusk.
of course I had no light or tools.
