Of course the 126 could be had with a manual, but AFAIK all engines 380 and larger could only be had with an auto.

Further proof that the 126 came with a manual tranny
and I bet they are still available somewhere.

OK, so I'm driving down the road and spot a white 126
500 sel made a U-turn back and saw that it is an AMG.
I looked inside and found that it had a 5 speed manual
tranny which puzzeled me cloth seats and 23k on the
clock. Made a bee line to the owner to talk and heres
what I found. 1983 AMG built for this owner in Germany
and imported I saw the EPA papers and order form. get
this its a 6 cyclinder car??? so this begs the
question is it for real. BBS wheels everything is
there and the owner says that it has been in storage
for the last 20 years any comments.
