C'mon fellows I don't read this list for this kind of stuff. I'm here
for the coupes!

Nevertheless here is the scoop on this chain letter which has been
floatin' around for awhile now.

What is appealing about this email message is that there are no
fabrications in it. If one reads through it, one might quickly conclude
that it is a hoax. It is chain mail, but not a hoax. It has, however,
earned its way to many hoax sites because of its popularity and its way
of masking the entire picture.

Jim Neugent sent out this email message after receiving a reply from an
ABC representative. The network employee responded with his personal
views, which many find offensive to this day - thus the popularity of
this chain message. What is not obvious to recipients of this message is
that the representative was immediately fired and that ABC made several
statements apologizing both to Neugent and the public.
